Engineering the
Year 2035.
Netser does not just buy technology — we incubate it. Horizon Labs is our internal skunkworks: a small, well-funded research division working at the physical limits of what computing can be.
Four moonshots, one horizon.
Immersion Cooling
Two-phase dielectric fluid systems designed to absorb 200kW per cabinet without the air-handling overhead of traditional facilities. We treat heat as a managed material flow, not exhaust.
Post-Quantum Lattice
Migrating fiber-network control planes to lattice-based key exchange ahead of cryptanalytically-relevant quantum capability. Hybrid deployment alongside classical for the transition decade.
Photonic Fabric
All-optical interconnect for AI training clusters — eliminating the electronic-to-optical conversion penalty. Targeting sub-nanosecond cross-cabinet hops at 800Gbps lane density.
Neural Edge
Custom silicon for inference at the regional edge: a thin substrate where small models run with sub-millisecond latency under jurisdictional constraints. Co-designed with our Cloud Grid team.
What we work on, and why.
-
01
Physical limits, not feature lists.
Software companies optimize for product-market fit. We optimize for thermodynamics, photon budgets, and cryptographic hardness. Our timelines are measured in fab cycles.
-
02
Long horizons, deep funding.
Programs commit to a 7–10 year window with patient capital. Researchers are not on a startup runway and do not need to ship a product to keep their job.
-
03
Publish what we can, protect what we must.
We push publication where it advances the field and our reputation; we hold tightly only the engineering details that translate research into operational advantage.
-
04
Sovereign by default.
Every Horizon program is designed to deploy under jurisdictional constraints. If a technology can only run in one country's cloud, we won't build it.
Visiting research relationships.
Selected academic groups our researchers collaborate with through joint publications, sabbatical exchanges, or co-funded PhD programs.
Researchers wanted.
Horizon Labs runs a small bench — under fifty researchers worldwide. We hire selectively, fund deeply, and protect long horizons. If you have a thesis on the physical or cryptographic substrate of the next-decade economy, we want to read it.
